Not really. What I'd agree with though, is that when crime and madness is at its peak (like the US and Europe now), a state of exception (like it happens in El Salvador) should be implemented, where penalties are stricter and law enforcement is granted more freedom to act, like Judge Dredd:

The idea is counterproductive unless the bigger picture is targeted for population control.
The amount in losses for businesses would be insanely high because of the burglary (which imo would be the crime mostly committed) and murder rates would only increase due to the vengeance people will feel after the fact.

I don't believe explosives are allowed in The Purge world whether they're handmade or not. From what I remember from the first two movies people who use unacceptable weapons are targeted for death by the government.

It's not realistic do you think the plastic explosives that just blew open your front door made a lot of noise ? How do you track what person blew off your leg after you triggered that tripwire in your yard ? Do poor people carry Iphones where they can be tracked via GPS with government spyware on it ? Talking big, it is a prevalent hypocrisy to force upon the others which you do not dare. If you go into a jail nd iintroduce your law there and survive then lets discuss. But I believe in a civilized society, such case will always end in a civil law enforcement to fill the hiatus of the government forces. BTW there are always enough rooms for anarchy in reality, as long as one dares try, you just do not know you would end up. But you give me a vibe of a rich person trying to introduce some post-human rules like modern head hunting games.
