An event or law which crime is legal for a short period of time

Idk if you've seen The Purge movies. But this means:
Annual national holiday known as "the Purge", a day in which all crime, becomes decriminalized for a 12-hour period from 7 PM to 7 AM.

Would you support this? If it were proposed.

PS:
The president, first family, and government officials of rank 10, are granted immunity
All police, fire, and medical emergency services remain unavailable or suspended for the full 12-hour Purge.
Sirens blare throughout the land to signal the start and end of The Purge.

If you watched the movies, the purpose is to get rid off of the poor who cannot afford a shelter during the "madness". So it's obvious who survives the night.

It is stupid and not obvious. The poor could individually take to the woods and build shelter e.g. an A-frame shelter or they could team up and break into middle class houses since the middle class probably could not afford elite security guards.

A part of me likes the idea but obviously you can't have people murdering others for one night.

I don't believe explosives are allowed in The Purge world whether they're handmade or not. From what I remember from the first two movies people who use unacceptable weapons are targeted for death by the government.
