In the most popular team sports they would have great performances, leaving the rest of the teams competing for second place.
I'm not sure about overall sports due to demographics.

The split of YU started in the 70ies, 50 years ago. So If it was till united today, It would fall apart any moment soon. In a way I feel sad about it because it really had potential - aside from sports, but it was just not ment to be.

Yes. Many internal conflicts were ignored or not allowed to be mentioned. I believe the public officials should've been more diplomatic with the population.

In retrospective during 70ies Tito should rather have been stricter with nationalists, but at the end this would have changed nothing in the eventual outcome.
