Denmark vs Norway

lol well, it's the scandinavian country that accepts less immigrants. Each time I imagine moving and settle somewhere, I'd like to be the only immigrant.

Norway, because of nature - mountains, woods, rivers, fjords etc. Denmark is too flat and monotonous, together with Netherlands probably most boring European country in terms of nature.

As a whole, I prefer Norway (and I am more familiar with it too since my boyfriend is norwegian) but Copenhagen is a cooler city than Oslo.

Cool. My dad got a job offers from Norwegian oil platforms several times (as a chief engineer). Fantastic money. He turned it down tho.
But, you shouldn't overly romanticize such life. Oil platform, especially a drilling one, is more dangerous than any ship.

There's a reason it is so well payed.

These new ones I think have come a long way in terms of safety and training though. Don't know for how long this as been a rule, but one thing all workers need to have is the BOSIET course (basic offshore safety induction and emergency training), including how to escape from a fallen helicopter at sea. Many people do it at a certain training center in Aberdeen.
I watched this documentary years ago and kind of stuck with me. It would be especially good if you have a Mechanical Engineering degree and some experience for instance, and apply for one of those more specialized and better payed jobs.

Edit: But I'm not really familiar with the matter of how easy it is for a foreigner to get a job there (laws, etc), and also importantly, how will that question apply in the future, in this time of political change in which we live.

I really love both countries. Nice people, very clean environments, great histories and top notch music output. But I choose Norway, because it gives me the opportunity to just eff the frigg off and go live in the woods in the middle of nowhere when I`m fed up of everything else.
