    Voted for Constantinople.

    * Its fall marked the end of hopes for the eastern route. Christians admitted that they have to find new routes to reach other parts of the world.
    * This led Europe to age of discovery and eventually to age of industry.
    * It was also one of the factors which showed firearms are very effective againsts castles-fortresses that led to end of feudalism.

    only if you integrate the byzantine empire ,something than i don't, i set more the fall of the middle ages at the late middle ages era with the fall of the Capetian dynasty with the crisis of the late middle ages

    In Germany you have three alternatives, however, I'm not aware of more: 1453, 1492 and 1500. The latter is motivated by having a flat number in the relevant time span. And actually this is what I stick to (1500). Unfortunately there's no such alternative in the poll.
