At the end on 2021, Germany recorded 33,900 workers from India, 26,300 workers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and 19,600 workers from Kosovo.

Apart from these three countries, Serbia (17,400), China (16,700), the United States (16,500), Albania 13,800), Northern Macedonia (13,500), Türkiye (10,700), and Russia (9,400) also make the top ten list of countries whose citizens immigrated to Germany for work purposes.

The wave you are seeing in the UK is mostly from Albania of people joining gangs or already established gangsters in the UK smuggling people. Some of these people of course are there, like the article mentions, for genuine purposes, but others are simply taking advantage.

I posted time ago a new about Albanian immigrants (illegal of course, although this is irrelevant) concentrated in the port of Santander in North Spain, living in very poor conditions, waiting to ship (illegally also, of course) toward UK.

Albania experienced its steepest population decline in two decades in 2021, when the population fell by 1.3% during the year.

Data from statistics office Instat showed the population stood at 2,793,592 on January 1, 2022, down by 1.3% compared to January 1, 2021.

The natural increase (births minus deaths) turned negative for the first time, standing at -3,296, Instat said.

Albania continued to see mass emigration, with 42,048 people leaving the country during the year against just 9,195 immigrants. That left Albania with net migration of -32,853, compared with -16,684 in 2020, when mobility was impeded by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Yes, that woman is a kind of hypocrite.
If there is place for her in UK, there is also for Albanian immigrants.

Especialy if it known how UK is very pro-Albanian in ex-yu Balkans affairs.

LOL at this blinkered notion that European immigrants are always preferable to non-European ones. Albanians, and to a lesser extent other Balkanites, make up a disproportionate share of criminals in this country (and quite a few others).
