Nov 6, 2022

Officials warned against touching or licking the Sonoran desert toad, also known as the Colorado River toad common in Arizona or New Mexico.

The toad can be poisonous and can cause hallucinations if ingested and ‘is a potent psychoactive’.

People can recognize the approximately 7-inch toad by its low hoot and glowing eyes that can be seen in the dark.
