Films I am talking about are Serbian Film and Life and death of Porno Gang. Never watched them but my friends did.

I gravitate more towards the Italians for the films of Argento and the two Bavas.
Then again, my favorite horror filmmaker is David Cronenberg, but I don't think Canada is the right answer to the question.
