Ι didn't even know that this existed, let alone so close to my home.

So, just outside of Athens, within a hidden hill of Mount Pentelicus, there is a cemetery for 9973 German WW2 (Nazi) soldiers who were gathered here from all around mainland Greece.

My thoughts on this:

1. The place, although located in the middle of nowhere and has survived two wildfires, looks like it was built yesterday with marvelous architecture (even the parking lines look fresh). Props to the German embassy for maintaining it like this and hopefully some Greek authorities should try to cope.

2. The place looks very Christian with a huge cross at the entrance.

3. The cemetery mentions Germans soldiers who died under "mean violent regimes", and that it is an attempt at reconciliation and political views should stay outside the cemetery. This doesn't stand very well with me, I feel like it censors the word Nazi because it would cause reactions from many sides and undermines political thought.
