I don't know where I1 came from, but it looks like my paternal line rose from proto- or pre-Germanic people. It looks obvious and Finnish historians had this perception until the 80s. After that the University of Helsinki became occupied by Finno-Ugric extremists, who deny older research and also genetics. Same extremist line became in force also in Estonia (University in Tartu).

Every nation wants to make own narratives. Every epoch has own narratives. It is not a conscious tendency, but more a will. A will to see oneself as a meaningful part of something bigger. Think about Woke. All humanist sciences, like linguistics, go forward through mystic paradigms without conscious selections.
