Hello everyone!
My name is Alfric and I've chosen to join The Apricity out of my interest in both my personal heritage and general European history & culture.
My main interests for years now has been ancient & medieval weapons and armour, HEMA and warfare. I also have a passion for works of fiction like Tolkien's stories, as well as the tales and folklore of our people. Currently I do 11th century re-enactment here in England, which is my main way of exploring these interests.
Another love of mine is that for Scandinavia. This was perhaps sparked by learning of the vikings at an early age, but that has expanded to the languages, geography, people and traditions.
Recently I have also become interested in subjects like linguistics/etymology, anthropology and evolutionary biology.
Hopefully I will get to chat with some of you in time.
