I haven't seen it yet, but I am going to.
I have seen all of Aronofsky's films and he is one of the most interesting filmmakers working today.

Best Film "the black swan" even though it owes a big debt to Polanski's "repulsion" and Cronenberg's body horror.

most personal for me is "pi" even though the mathematician's quest for beauty in
the decimal expansion of pi is misguided and is answered in a beautiful Taylor expansion of a trig function.
A movie critic mocked Whoopi Goldberg's ridiculous fat suit. The problem was that she *wasn't* in one (whoopsi).

It marked me because I discovered that society as a society has many problems to solve and sometimes it solves them by going after the weakest until it gets the wrong victims.

According to oral family tradition E-FT155550 comes from a deserter of Napoleon's troops (1808-1813) who stayed in Spain and changed his surname.

Zulu (1964) - instilled patriotism from a young age and a fascination with that war and period
Birth of a Nation (1915) - instilled racial awareness and an alternate view of US history
The Shiralee (1987) - evokes a nostalgia and love for rural Australia for me

    Some others:

Planes, Trains and Automobiles - a beloved movie since childhood that I suppose influenced my humour, still quoting it regularly
Back to the Future - Still quoting it regularly
A Man for All Seasons (1966) - morally inspiring, or was when I saw it as a teenager
It's a Wonderful Life (1946) & Scrooge (1970) - Feel-good Christmas movies, always make you feel good to be alive and appreciative
    3 more:

-Threads (1984) - Not a horror but the only movie that left me feeling a bit shaken afterwards, and frightened of Nuclear War first time I saw it, not having grown up in the 80s. A real taste of the fear of the time.
-The Prisoner of Second Avenue (1975) - A Jewish comedy but shows the pressures and frustrations of regular life from the perspective of ordinary people (Jack Lemmon does unravelling better than anyone), with humour and tenderness.
-The Truman Show (1998) - Thought-provoking when I saw it as a child, and made you wonder at times if your own life was a show, being watched - which I guess you never stop wondering in a way.
-Another note on The Shiralee, I love the honesty/naturalism of the characters, and the evolution of the relationship between the father and daughter is so sweet, that together with the beautiful soundtrack makes it a tearjerker.

I don't know, but LOTR trilogy for sure is one of them. This trilogy is more than simple movies for me.

1* Forrest Gump. Best film ever. Its especially striking when youre the "bright" kid in the life. I was. I have always been the best student in my class, i have always been the friend "to ask things" and i have always been the adult in the room. But not every people got gifts like me. A man with 75 IQ also exists and he has a life and he "has to" survive. It was a window to the "other side" for me.

Most touching scene= "Is he smart or like me..." (By the was this scene is the reason that i often use "like me" even though sometimes its grammatically not fitting.)

2** Avatar. Well i know its not a great film for adults but when youre little kid its very teaching. It shows in real life what a man can do for a woman which is very helping at young age for better undestanding the world in upcoming years. Another instance, there are things everywhere that you dont even care but theyre perhaps source of life for somebody else. And those people who will destroy anything for their selfish self-interest.

Also one thing, being tall, slim-fit and with bright green eyes only lacking a tail and blue skin my friends called me "avatar" for long time after watching this film. So it became more valuable for me.

3*** 50 First Dates. Cute Drew Barrymore film. Its a chick flick but it was very teaching to me. You realize that you might tolerate very absurd conditions. (You should, if youre a real man)

Shaped - does that mean ones which influenced (for ex. somehow helped to develop personality) you at a relatively young age, and not just favourite ones?
Even then 3 is too low number.

    1) "Guest from the Future" and "Adventures of Electronic". Soviet children's science fiction films.

    2) Soviet comedies, mostly by Leonid Gaidai. Soviet military and spy movies as well.

    3) American fiction, such as "Aliens", "Predator" and "Terminator". Probably some martial arts movies, both with JCVD or Jackie Chan and some ours, like "Fanat".

This is something that could somehow affect me up to 7-8 years. There are many more great films out there, but you need to be older to fully understand and rethink them, so they were already beyond the period of my personality formation.

I love the evolution of her character from the first to the second film, from a simple waitress to an aggressive muscular smoking Stearsolina, saving her son and thanks to this the whole world.
