I asked a film lover about it who told me the same girl, Kaya Scodelario. I didn't know or remember who she was. Looks quite like a good choice, except maybe for the innocent look. I've heard she's in the last version of Wuthering Heights, in which Heathcliff is performed by a black guy.

I actually don't mind "edgy" reworkings of the classics, as long as they really are edgy, and not just pretending to be and pandering to the audience's desire to feel sophisticated.
I think a Snow White with some tasteful punk/goth sensibilities would work -- the operative word here being "tasteful", that is, Tim Burton would not be allowed on the same continent during pre-production and filming.
