Before the 2014 about 30% of the Ukrainians were pro-Russian, now they are less than 10%.

In Romania, we got a lot of the Ukrainian refugees from Kherson and Odessa regions and many of them held pro-Russian views at the beginning of the conflict. Now, 10 months into the war, they lost homes, relatives, etc, they understand that they were used by Russia in a very cynical way, and are extremely anti-Russia and anti-Putin.

Used HOW? What benefit did Russia extracted from them? I say the betrayal had no other use than to deepen the gap of hostility between the people.

I don't think these people really understood what war means in the first place. They wanted Russia to go in but did not comprehend the consequences. Now they are experiencing them first hand and it's tragic. They probably imagined something like a repeat of Crimea in 2014, but obviously that wasn't going to be.

I have talked to refugees in late spring and many of them (mostly old women), after getting to know them somewhat, would express support for Russia. Now my relatives are telling me that such people are hard to find. Keep in mind that expressing a pro-Russian view in Romania is not that hard. The Russian viewpoint is very present in the Romanian podcast space, and I think about 1 in 4 Romanians have some degree of approval for Putin (even though they are against the invasion). It's pretty clear to me that the pro-Russia support among Ukrainians is waning away.

I've always said the same. I don't understand why Russia ( I wouldn't say Russians in general) doesn't want to use peacefully big opportinities they
have. The biggest country in the world have everything, talent people , good education and enormous natural resources. No one is attacking on Russia because Russia is a nuke power. It is very hard to understand the mentality leading Russians. It sounds like a 100 years old spirit.

You have to be very ignorant not to understand the Russian point of view (whether its right or wrong).
"Attacking" is not all about armies and nukes, but fail to realize soft power, tactics like moving in on an enemy or encircling, draining resources, propaganda, non conventional weaponry, economic warfare.

Tell me what powerful people 1000s of km away in London, Washington, New York are doing making color revolutions and destabilization countries around the world with their inferior system of democracy and progressive degenerate values?

This crime syndicate has been doing this for too long. Some people are sick of the "world order".

Btw I could never understand why you Russians started the war. I see you have frozen land with winter like 9 months a year on average (here in Poland we have winter for about 6 months, remaining months are ok) but the global warming may improve your situation a lot plus you may want to cooperate with Europe and with China, develop your economy, infrastructure etc. There are big opportunities for Russia, a lot of smart people in Russia but then you suddenly invade the frickin Ukraine.

Russia didn't start the war. Please stop believing the false Western narrative. Ukraine attacked its own people in the Donbas in 2014, and there has been war ever since. Russia just decided last year that enough is enough, seeing that Ukraine and US/Europe are utterly unwilling to negotiate.

Easy: after the war ends, you ordinary Russians and Ukrainians just blame the politicians for everything in public conversation (although private discussion would be another matter).

Unfortunately suspicion would remain for at least a generation.

Rivne is in western Ukraine and historically it was disconnected from Russia for much longer time than central Ukraine. Not to mention eastern Ukraine.
