The EU doesn't exists as an independent and ethereal entity, it's only the representation of their members. There're 'woke' states like Germany or Spain but also there're others which aren't, like Hungary, Poland, and now Italy. And in France the anti-immigration parties are very strong and one day they could be in charge.
And if some day the anti-woke states are majority well, the EU will be an anti-woke-immigration entity.
Anyway even the supposedly woke states like Spain, or Greece, periodically do many 'atrocities' rejecting immigrants and refugees from Africa and Near East even against the law... They know this behaviour against illegal immigrants is not punished by their electors. Don't know exactly who's pushing this liberal pro-immigration policies over so many countries, but I think that is not majority of electors but the published opinion, the establishment or whatever. But sometimes this's not enough as we've seen in Italy for example.
Excuses, they said very clearly Brexit would stop massive immigration and voters believed them. They're as ethnic aware as any other or even more.Brexit was factually done in 2020, look at the demographic trend pre 2020 and see a clear trend that will continue cause the UK like all anglos have no ethnic awareness and are liberal.
But the UK now at least has the possibility of their own independent and sovereign immigration policy, what they do with the opportunity is another issue.
Why immigration has increased in UK post-brexit is a matter I would like to know better.
EU members are crumbling it's true, but it seems not as much as the UK according to news. what is the wonder of being 'free' outside the EU then? How can you say that 2 years after the Brexit was official and the EU is crumbling as much as the UK, USA or any country post Covid and during the Ukraine war.
Seriously, do you think EU is responsible for this situation?. Damn!, remember Merkel opening borders to tons of refugees and other EU members saying 'what the fuck is this woman doing???.The ethnic replacement of London and the UK already took place when they were EU members, and overall Germany has the same amount of foreigners like the UK, Germany is just not as centralized to a single city.
Don't blame the EU for your national and sovereign policies regarding refugees immigrants, blame yourselves.

After leaving the EU, the Johnson government actually liberalised certain immigration laws (albeit rather quietly): quotas on the number of international students each university could accept were lifted, and employers are no longer legally obliged to advertise for prospective employees in the UK before looking overseas.

The many many benefits of brexit... for EU members.
Time passes and criticism about brexit increases, in UK. But in the EU it is now seen as something positive, after the initial shock.
