Rap is music, but I have a poor opinion generally ALL music.

The moon is made of green cheese. I don't need any arguments to support this former proposition!

Never listen to american rap even once but I know the lyrics of american rap is full of drug and violence, I do not like slangs and epithets or memes in the lyrics. Blacks are great for basket ball and boxing, but they do not sing about them. Korean pop is arguably less creative than black rap, the cultural deficiency of the kpop is stunning I think their producers are thinking humanity is stupid enough to gobble up those cheap industrialistic android muppets as musicians. Black rap is plagued by sordidness but there are worse artists than black rappers everywhere I do not want to name them here. Suggestion to those who want to make good music: do not take people as fools even once.

Rap 'music' is essentially mindless 'music' which is part of a destructive environment known as the ghetto. The ghetto is inhabited by mostly people with very little education and low IQ’s. Low IQ people are attracted to it because they don't see the bigger picture of how childish and stupid rap really is.

Not that I am a fan of rap, don’t listen to it, but rhythm itself is important.


Really couldn’t care less whether drumming lowers or rises one’s IQ, because I think it has numerous other benefits.

Shamanic drumming is different, it is very simple and monotonous beat facilitating trance and directing intent energy, but rhythm in music making is a different thing.

Going back to silence and starting from a simple rhythm doesn’t have mean dumbing down – it just creates a very creative space for melody and harmony to be born imo.

When I was a freshman in high school I had all the wiggers mad because in the school paper I said rap was lame, lolz. Rap came about partially because instruments and lessons (unless learning from a relative) are expensive for people in poverty.

Gackt`s "Redemption" song was groundbreaking in 2007 since he imitated the rap techniques of speech-rhythming, but the song is different from rap in terms of intonating the words, american raps usually sound attacking, brawling, slanging, the way of intonation is street-style. But have you tried songs musically and properly intoned in speech-rhythming ？ sounds very beautiful, so far I only know japanese artists like Gackt and Amazarashi are doing this, I do not listen to a lot of modern musicians so, my modern repertoir is small but high quality. Try Amazarashi on yt or bili bili. Amaz is more centered on this technique but Gackt was like a pioneer many of his songs do not depend on it, of cause you can start with Gackt "Redemption".

You will see that rap does have influence on this Amaz band, however, the way of speech-intonation and rhythming is different from rap, Amaz is not rapping as a matter of fact but inspired by rap. A new style to me. Some chinese call this band as "a monk chanting on guitar" ( I can not claim much credibility on commenting on music styles, just for reference). I want to say that, surely rap can be stylistically and technically elevated into better music, with better lyrics too, I mean people can imitate it in better ways. Aftr all we do not need any ghetto or slumdog music--we all agree with on this point. @Aila, I can not see any yt videos, but I guess you are defending exceptional artists out of the heap of garbages, if it is the case then my post likely can complement with your intention.

Some rap is okay but overall much of it is shite.

Young folks tend to like stuff that is seemingly rebellious and dangerous, rap is simplistic and loaded with attitude hence it became quite marketable, but also its over popularity perhaps points to the dumbing down of the young generations.
