I think the problem here is your low IQ doesn't allow you to understand simple English. 600K of mostly young men was a huge portion of the American working population. These men won't have families because they're dead. That affects population size for generations unless you attract people. A dearth of workers means demand for workers.
Are you so stupid as to think the US government in the late 19th century and early 20th century chose to allow these people in the US because they, you know, felt like it rather than have a practical reason?
This is simple. German farmers, for example, left because the land wasn't cheap (supply and demand; learn the concept), and so when they saw an opportunity to settle in a state like Nebraska, they did so (lots of land and cheap). Settlers are motivated by economic factors, Gebach, and hence they're economic immigrants when speaking of a nation that is already in existence taking them in.And settlers settle in the middle of nowhere and build they communities from scratch, unlike economic immigrants who move to already established cities and beg for jobs handed by the natives.
