To what side you are attached the most, since you have Slovenian, Serbian and Croatian ancestry?

He doesn't look non Caucasian. Perhaps both his Irish and Italian parents had curly hair.

Quora: Why do Celtic people have more curly/wavy hair whilst the native people of Canada and Siberia have dead straight hair? When Ireland, Scotland, Wales, most of Canada and Siberia are at similar latitudes?

What specifically about his features are non-White? Nevermind. It's irrelevant to the thread.

Because they think he is not White (although he shills for the far-right).
And? Does he choose one ancestry over the other? What a stranger behind a desk thinks of him is irrelevant to the question asked in the OP.

Do you not understand what is being asked in this thread?

I also had a friend who was 3/4th Irish and 1/4th Italian. He was much more attached to his Italian ancestry. His surname was Italian. I knew a guy who was 3/4th Irish and 1/4th Hungarian. He always referred to himself as Irish, but one day, he casually mentioned he was 1/4th Hungarian. He has an Irish surname.

    What is your experience?
Ancestral Paper trail don't mean shit. People always moved around just not as much as today. The Irishman Edmund Burke ? Actually, an English philosopher. Ancestor from Poland ? Might be German from Danzig. Then there are possible non-parental events or male ancestor being cuckulded etc...

On paper I am English, Irish and German with a hiberno-norman name but that don't mean shit. I am basically a WASP : 94% English and Scottish :

In my case I'd say it's quite balanced. Ever since early childhood I spent a lot of time with both sets of my grandparents.
So I like and identify with all three ethnicities.

But I see some different patterns among some of my cousins.
For example, my 3 paternal uncles (brothers of my father) all also married and have children with Slovenians, and I've noticed some of their children identify more with one side. It tends to be the side they spend more time with the grandparents of when they were little. For some it's the Serbian and Croatian side, for some it's the Slovenian side.

And another example, my paternal aunt (sister of my father) has a child with a Serb. But he was an absentee father, so the child never spent much time with either the father or the grandparents from his side. So this child, interestingly, seems to somewhat ignore the Serbian ancestry. Not only from their father's side, but also of their maternal grandmother. So despite being 3/4 Serb in actuality, they identify very strongly with the 1/4 Kajkavian Croatian side of their ancestry, even though it's only coming from the maternal grandfather.

I have different ethnic backgrounds but people have noted me for one particular ethnic background over the other. Even my own father says I look more like my other ethnicity than his ethnicity. But he would still claim me as I was Z ethncity.

Z ethnicity father and x ethnicity is mother.
People have said things from like, your x ethnicity but your half Z ( a shared a ethnicity) so you're cool with us.
And few times for having X ethnicity i have been annoyed in real life. But it was very rare. Not many people are like that. But most people generally took me for X ethnicity then Z at first. Or they probably asked because they really couldn't tell.
People of mixed ethnicities aren't generally trying to appeal to being white. This is fringe small group of people. They look at their ethnic backgrounds more closely.
