Ancestral Paper trail don't mean shit. People always moved around just not as much as today. The Irishman Edmund Burke ? Actually, an English philosopher. Ancestor from Poland ? Might be German from Danzig. Then there are possible non-parental events or male ancestor being cuckulded etc...

Well, Genetically im Half Iberian and Half Ssa, but my full white or full black ancestors are very distant, so despite i like iberian culture and to some extend west african culture too i just identify as full brazilian, culturally too

I'm not only Croatian by ancestry but also Bosniak, German, Serb, Greek and probably Hungarian but all these ancestries are minor and quite irrelevant to my predominant and major Croatian ancestry.
I was born and raised in Croatia and raised in Croatian culture and nobody ever saw me as anything but full ethnic Croat. My family is nationalist oriented.

But I take pride in my other ancestries too and have interest in them. Without these people of other European ancestries I wouldn't exist.

Btw, reason why I am seen as full ethnic Croat is because in my country, similarly like in much of central Europe (like Hungary for eg) tons of people have some minor foreign ancestry and it is not seen as foreign because that is how it was in old Habsburg Empire. I have friends with foreign surnames and they are seen as nothing but full Croat because for eg. a Czech ancestor from 19th century doesn't mean much and almost all our Catholic minorities (but not only them) assimilated into Croats.

But it's different with people who are product of mixed marriages from ex-Yugoslavian times, let's say with Serbs, Bosniaks or Albanians. They are considered mixed and many of them have dual/mixed identity and aren't seen as ethnic Croats.

In my case I'd say it's quite balanced. Ever since early childhood I spent a lot of time with both sets of my grandparents.
So I like and identify with all three ethnicities.

I'm despising Ukrainism more thankfully to my Ukrainian mother, than father, my mother being really ethnically from there loved the Russian culture, always despised "villager Ukrainism", my father who is authentic Russian is 100000 times less concious than her in that question. That's why i say Ukrainians are the best Russians. Mentally and may be genetically, i avoid genetical questions as it easily leads to lunacy.
