No. I'm saying that people would associate themselves with other people who are more empathic. I wasn't thinking about one converting. They could've gotten married into a religion etc., or been irreligious from the beginning and perhaps picked the religion of their friends and family and so on.

I believe non-Arab Muslims from MENA as well.
Assyrian genocide is more impactful for me, because my great-grandparents were affected by it. The Holocaust was extremely terrible and inexcusable act of violence. But I'm not sure why we're comparing genocides of other peoples now.
