I'm still gonna go though to enjoy that food.
More power to you. I'm gonna take a hard pass on the haggis.

The late JamesBond007 can be counted as one too (although he would probably suffer a meltdown if you reminded him of such).

He probably would. I almost posted a chart of his Cornish genes with a wall of text that insults Irish people and math "retards".

My mum's parents are from Newfoundland, and the family is partly Irish Newfie. For those of you who don't know, Newfoundland is basically Ireland 2.0. So growing up, when they used to babysit me, or we used to go visit Newfoundland after my grandparents moved back, there was all kinds of Irish-esque shit going on.

I would say all of us Ulster-Scot hillbillies have some Irish.

I've disowned him a long time ago. Any of his Irish ancestors would turn in their graves if they were aware of the derogatory things he posts about Irish and that would be his ancestors he's posting about. I still don't know if he is actually serious or it is just some elaborate persona he has online. Otherwise I don't understand his sucking up to ethnicities that he isn't and the self-hate he must have. I really do believe some of it is a sham and it is an online persona that he's made up. It is nothing that hasn't been done on here already. There has been some pretty elaborate ones on here over the years.

Their accents are 100% Irish especially the first lady. They have similar accents to my mother's part of the country i.e. around Tipperary, Kilkenny and Wexford.

Replace the language and you'd swear this was a Cajun gathering. Hmm, may have been some cross pollination with Nova Scotia.

There's a bit of accent variation too, but the St. Johns accent is nearly identical to a Waterford accent, I think. I can't even tell the difference.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_...n_Newfoundland

    Interesting article, especially:
Newfoundland Irish has left traces in Newfoundland English, such as the following: scrob 'scratch' (Irish: scríob), sleveen 'rascal' (slíbhín) and streel 'slovenly person' (sraoill), along with grammatical features like the "after" perfect as in "she's already after leavin'" (tá sí tar éis imeachta).[1]
