Gold deposits already exist in Majdanpek in eastern Serbia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Majdanpek_mine), exploitation has begun there in 19th century.

Exploitation has not started yet. A gold deposit in Čoka Rakita locality (Žagubica municipality) was recently discovered.
