And I'm not talking about this forum (even though it also applies) but IRL.
What's the reason for this? It's not like the US is a poor country to argue that tickets are too expensive to be afforded. It's also intriguing that probably the cheapest international routes are from/to USA. Unlike europeans who travel almost every year (sometimes more than once) and even asians at this point, you'll only find yanks on Mexico beaches and maybe some place where prostitution is cheap (not counting the residents or "recent" gringos who visit their original countries from time to time).

im not american but i would say that the people from America is diverse so they don't need for example to travel to china if they have chinatown or a mediterranean landscape when they have some territories with mediterranean climate i mean USA is diverse geographicaly and culturally that's why americans don't need to travel to "x" country to see "x" thing
that's my theory now we need to wait a real american to answer

Why would they? when they have a whole continent and even nice near tropical places that don't get cold in winter. It's not like they give a crap about Europe etc they only come to look at the old buildings and maybe eat slightly different food, otherwise they are better off staying in America tbh.

I know a lot of people in the US that travel abroad. My family goes back to Spain every few years. I know people who spend quite a bit of time, a couple months at a time visiting Italy. Most of my maternal side likes to visit Europe, Japan, and Africa... and the Dominican Republic. I notice most Americans that like to travel often visit The Bahamas and Mexico... then Europe.
