I think it’s due to a couple of reasons.

The average amount of PTO days Americans receive is somewhere between 10-15 days. If you are wanting to spend time traveling across the globe, I’d assume you’d want to stay at least a week, ideally more.

Also flights going anywhere to the eastern hemisphere are quite expensive.
It’s not like we can just take a train and travel to different countries like Europeans can.

My guess is that Mexico is probably the most traveled to country by Americans because the flights are cheap.

A few months ago in a terrace of a bar next to mine there were about 10 Americans, one of them was black and another was a kind of pseudo Orson Welles, they seemed more alive and attentive than many other northern Europeans I noticed because I am also a watchman, I do not know, they seemed calm and relaxed but not clueless and oblivious, they did not look like any other European and yet they seemed European.

According to oral family tradition E-FT155550 comes from a deserter of Napoleon's troops (1808-1813) who stayed in Spain and changed his surname.

Not that there is anything wrong with this but it is a reality distinct from most other countries. Americans are brought up in an environment that leads them to believe in the grandiosity of their own country ("the best ever") plus the American education system does not cover many aspects of world history. As a consequence, it is normal for the average American to not value experiencing different cultures as much as other nationalities. Why would they if America is the number one? For the average American, with average education, the only contact they have with the outside world is through their media, which if we are being honest, kinda gives them the impression that outside the US anywhere you go is unsafe or a warzone and you can get shot at any time as soon as you show your American passport. All this uncertainty creates fear in a substantial part of the American population. It is also a cultural aspect. America is a country that traditionally receives immigrants, not "exports" them. Every other country in Europe, Asia, South America or Africa has diasporas around the world, so there is more connection or contact with other parts of the globe through family members.

It's too expensive. Everyone acts like Americans are made of money but most of us are living paycheck to paycheck, even people with a good salary, due to the cost of housing and insurance and transportation. Food is fairly cheap here, I guess entertainment can be relatively cheaper, but the big important things suck all our money dry. And employers here on every level of the pay scale do NOT like giving people tons of time off. Asking for more than 2 weeks out of your normally scheduled time is considered grossly excessive.

Same here, but in Europe almost no one works in most of December, workplaces are closing, you have many free time. Many employer gives them day off at the begining of Januar too, because everyone were drunk at new year parties and nobody can work.

Vacation is boring. Strong people work all the time

As for December, here people work to 23rd and have a smaller vacation there if they want to.

As for being so drunk that one cannot work, that'll imply that they are VERY drunk. That's more the result of how much you drink. For health, it recommended to rather drink in small amounts at many occasions than to drink a lot in a short period of time. I suppose some people can tolerate more than others, also.

I work just about every week of the year and asking for christmas day off is not a gaurantee in a lot of jobs.
