Is the Vikings series historically faithful or does it have a woke political agenda?

I've been watching the Vikings series and the new Netflix Valhalla but I was debating with other people on the networks who say that these series are politically correct and historically false, and I wonder how true that is?

Not totally. The most glaring example being making the initial protagonist, Ragnar Lodbrok, being brother with Rollo, the first duke of Normandy, when both were removed from each other for most of a century. Then there is the case of making Alfred the Great a bastard and not a real member of the house of Wessex, and from then it goes on...
