Is the Vikings series historically faithful or does it have a woke political agenda?

While there has been an ungodly amount of historical revisionism going on in the last years, female warriors definately arent a part of that.
For quite a few cultures it was even completely normal to see women on the battlefield. Shield maidens undoubtly did exist, as did female warriors at any given time in history.
Black vikings however, that`s a whole other story.

That there were Viking shield maidens probably, but in the series they are hyper exaggerated, generally there were not too many, most Viking women knew how to defend themselves but stayed to watch over the crops, very few went on raids.
Probably if there has been a black Viking but they are isolated cases like the black samurai.
