Default The Seven Spirits of God

And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. Revelation 4:4

I'm reading a lot of posts where people argue how Trinity defines christianism, but I still not presenced a discuss how christians work the concept of Seven Spirits of God.

We find similar content in other religious traditions, like Zoroastrism were the Supreme Being Ahura Mazda also divide Himself in seven emanations, the Amesha Spentas.

"And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God." (Rev. 4:5) - The seven spirits of God are the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit sent to Earth: the spirit of wisdom and reason, counsel and strength, knowledge and piety and the fear of the Lord.

By the seven spirits of God, one must understand either the seven Angels who rule over others, according to the explanation of Irenaeus, or the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, of which Isaiah speaks (Isaiah 11:2, 3). Both are plausible.

Everything similar in various cults is just an imitation, as devil is known to be an imitator. All false religions and cults appeared after humankind (separated into tribes after Babel) rejected the original monoteist faith in true God in favor of the tribal pagan and quasi-pagan cults.

In China 7 means a lot: The 7 stars(The Great Dipper) signifies death and 7 laws of heaven, 7 element system that comprising the world: Yin(darkness), Yang(light) and Five Elements (Metal, Wood, Water, Fire and Earth).

Some asian people worship the deity of 7 stars called in different names.

Chilseong-gak – The Seven Stars Hall

Another popular shaman deity that you can find at a Korean Buddhist temple is Chilseong, or “The Seven Stars,” in English. Chilseong is Taoist in origins.

Specifically, Chilseong is prayed to for the birth of a baby, passing a school exam, wealth, long life, and/or the protection of young children. In appearance, Chilseong is known for the magnificent light that radiates forth from every part of its body. Even though it’s one deity, Chilseong appears as seven individual figures. Chilseong’s appearance depends on the artistic goal of the painter, so Chilseong can look shamanic, Buddhist, Taoist, or Confucian. In the centre of the Chilseong mural, you’ll see Jaeseok-cheon, or the “Heaven King Deity,” in English. Jaeseok-cheon is the manager of heaven. Jaeseok-cheon appears surrounded by the seven star figures. And on either side of Jaeseok-cheon you’ll find Ilgwang-bosal (The Bodhisattva of the Sun) and Wolgwang-bosal (The Bodhisattva of the Moon). Ilgwang-bosal holds a red orb in its hands, while Wolgwang-bosal holds a white orb in its hands.
Some similarities with Amesha Spenta here. Chilseong deity is similar to chinese "紫薇大帝“/The Ziwei Emperor, full name: Great Emperor of the North Star in the Purple Forbidden enclosure at the center of Heaven. Ziwei is represented by the Polaris star, also as the ruler of the Great Dipper, which are Ziwei`s brothers and sisters, descending from the same mother of heaven called: Doumu

    Doumu
Doumu (斗母), whose name means “Mother of the Big Dipper,” is one of Chinese mythology’s foundational deities. She is the female counterpart to Tian, the Daoist concept of male heavenly energy, and embodies mercy and love..
    --Mythopedia

7 laws of heaven: (Thes site protected from quoting)

Search: The 7 Stars of the Big Dipper 斗姆天尊--Find the site: dao-world.org

    Sypnosis:
The 7 stars of the great Dipper also signifies 7 laws of heaven: 1-破军/army general,2-贪狼/lusty wolf,3-巨门/great gate(probably means generosity or wisdom?),4-禄存/wealth,5-文曲/civility,6-廉贞/chastity,7-武曲/skilful prowess and art.

The monochrome picture of the 7 stars in the site is underlied with 7 chinese ritual characters refering to 7 deities of death(I can only identify two of them of their chinese names): 尸,尸鬼,and other death deities. 尸 means dead body, 尸鬼 means The spirit of the dead or deads.

Ziwei/紫微 as the Polaris not in the Great Dipper but is the ruler over the GD, symbolizes: The Noble Subtlety. 紫/Purple in Taoism means nobility; 微 the subtle microcosm. The 7 laws of GD sound much like princely Machiallevism.

I can not call myself a canonic christian, I am more close to the neoplatonic and orientalism tradition. So the 7 symbolism from Talmuds does not have monopolistic power over the other readings. Symbolism of 7 in Bible can be infered from other traditions, most significantly from the GD believes about death in Taoism, and the 7 laws as the ways of princely service to the heaven, some can be karmic, like how angels would punish humanity in the Revelation.

It is likely symbolic in meaning, but I guess we will know for sure one day.

By the way, Zoroastrianism is interesting, and bear in mind that Cyrus the Great of Persia was likely from Zoroastrian tradition, and yet he is spoken of highly in the Bible, and the Spirit of God was on him. He treated the Jewish followers of God favourably.

Does this mean Zoroaster may have been a legitimate prophet? Do you know if we have trustworthy information on Zoroastrianism?

In Sanātan faith , it has been exposited that there are 7 major human Chakras i.e. powerhouses in the whole body-mind complex , each with a presiding admin. (or as they call it , a Diety*) . Each Chakra have certain qualities/flair . The upper Chakras are usually said to be nearly shut down in most humans of contemporary era as their chitt (i.e. consciousness) & mind is miserably stuck in the bewildering maya , in the malfunctioning lower Chakras i.e. egotism , sensual pleasures & ensuing thought patterns & impressions of sexual lust , gluttony , greed , anger etc.

There is more to add but that would be irrelevant for now .

(*sounds like said spirits but not sure , not much aware of other religions)
