I am only posting anime character with dark hair and some unnatural hair color. All of them don't have very big eyes and not very pale skin. Except vegeta(who is alien)all of them are Japanese or Chinese.and if they do then which one.

Anime character look east Asian to me. Hair color and eye color show personality
Pale skin black hair and black eyes mean that he is emo and usually either very strong or very smart
Tanned skin mean she do lot of sport's or she is from Okinawa. They are usually very extrovert character
Red eyes can mean. That character is dangerous I guess red symbolize blood

It is mostly because of hair color .
Hair color and eye color really show personality in anime. Blonde hair = extrovert character. Same way tan skinned = do lot of sports or is from Okinawa. For example people say that nagatoro is black because her skinned is tanned but she is just sporty.
Like white hair in anime usually mean mysterious or strong character. These choice are completely to show personality.

I was very surprised when I saw people claiming that revy look white
Her eyes are small tanned skin and dark purple hair. I am not able to understand how someone like her look white. Black lagoon have white character already and they don't look like her compare benny with revy he is part of her crew. Do they seriously look same race? Benny is Jewish American revy is Chinese American. and yea Japanese think that Jews look European so they draw them like them

Haha, I just am considering change my avatar to Sephiroth, whose theme song was composed and sung by Gackt.

Sephiroth is like eurasian mixed, silver hair, tall, high nose, very finnish to say phenotypically.

L is a typical east asian depiction, red eyes sometimes looks cute or evil, that is all, not about phenotypes.
But neverthlessly true that many great anime characters are caucasian or at least mixed, like Alucard from Castlevania,
also Dante from Devil May Cry; anime girls like Pacifica from Scrapped Princess, Firiel Dee from The Good Witch of the West,
Elaina from Wandering Witch. All these characters are clearly caucasian by looks so are their personalities patterned after typical western
standards. Western culture is heavily represented in anime world, maybe western people do not know, anime is at least by 70% is
a fully recreated Western civilization. Admit it,not a shame.
