The last news from Brazil i read in the last days was: "Two men kill seven others after losing a snooker match in Mato Grosso". Mato Grosso is another region different from Rio or Bahia, and that is just one small example of more news of the sort.
Also, tons of brazilians that live in Portugal make youtube videos about how it is to live here, and first thing all of them mention is how safe it is here. Some are even amazed how it is possible to film or use their cellphones outdoors without any problems.

Safety is definitely an issue to look at if one was considering moving to Brazil. Like freezing temperatures well below zero is for Canada.

Mato Grosso shots? thats a isolated case, but i already said its a mediocre state.

And again, if someone want safety, southern states are much better compared to Northeast and Center-West. I was talking about SC, not MT.

I think Canada might be too cold otherwise very beautiful clean country with probably higher standard of living than Brazil.

That said, I find Brazil incredibly interesting ... if choice was a free holiday to either Im probably choosing Brazil, my focus would be Sao Paulo - Rio de Janeiro. As for living in Brazil IDK not sure how that would be.

For living if I had to choose between these 2, the safer bet would likely be Canada but in reality its unlikely I would choose to live in a cold country like Canada.
