Swedish intelligence: The terrorist group PKK is financed in Sweden

The Swedish Intelligence Service (SEPO) announced that the terrorist organization PKK/YPG is being financed in that country.

The deputy head of SEPO's counter-terrorism department, Susanna Trehorning, told state television SVT that the terrorist organization PKK/YPG obtains significant financial resources in Sweden.

"I won't say the amount, but I can say that the PKK terrorist organization is raising significant funds in our country," said Trehorning.

Stating that they are constantly working to identify the people who actually committed the crimes, Trehorning said that last week they caught a person who was collecting contributions to the PKK/YPG terrorist organization from his workplace.

At the end of January, the main Swedish negotiator for NATO membership, Oscar Stenstrom, made a similar statement, who told the SR state radio that the PKK collects significant funds through criminal groups in Sweden, and that this is not the case to such an extent with Finland, which is also applied for NATO membership.
