Strange, normally I would say that what is difficult to be compared is what is very similar.

I see Lisbon as very southern and Brugge as very northern. Both are beautiful, I couldn't choose between which to visit although I'd prefer to live in Brugge.

Can't really compare, Lisboa is much bigger.

I'd say Brugges is prettier much more uniform and with a unique character but Lisbon is more monumental and of course has much more activities and interesting places to visit.

Lisbon is a multicucktural shithole btw, the traffic is horrible and has become expensive...have no idea how it's Brugges now, was there more than 10 years ago and didn't seemed too bad... Antwerp and Brussels were shitholes full of Muslims and rather ugly cities. Ghent was nice, my second favorite after Brugges.
