This war among many others is entirely fault of the west. After invading several sovereign countries throughout past few decades, evading UN when initiating such attacks, it gave clear signal to everyone else - if you are big enough, you can do whatever you want.

It would be silly to expect that Russia and China ( now when they are much stronger than they used to be ) are going to play it fairly and that they are not going to take advantage of this offer. West initiating this also gives them a moral high-ground to do so.

It is like a school bully who picks on everyone else, and then one summer break, small kid who got picked on comes back , 15 centimeters taller, 20 kilos heavier and realizing he can do it too.

Zelensky was democratically elected following the Euromaidan precisely because Ukrainians wanted to step out of the Russian sphere of influence, that was their sovereign choice. Russia was so good to their neighbours that most of then joined NATO the moment the opportunity appeared. Also, Zelensky is a Jew, how could he be a nazi?

I seriously doubt the West would risk a nuclear war. If your enemy already showed a willingness to use nukes, why would you think there wasn't a very high possibility they'd use nukes against you?

Putin says Moscow to place nuclear weapons in Belarus, US reacts cautiously

March 25 (Reuters) - Russia will station tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus, President Vladimir Putin said on Saturday, sending a warning to NATO over its military support for Ukraine and escalating a standoff with the West.

Although not unexpected and while Putin said the move would not violate nuclear non-proliferation promises, it is one of the Russia's most pronounced nuclear signals since the beginning of its invasion of Ukraine 13 months ago.

The United States - the world's other nuclear superpower - has reacted cautiously to Putin's statement, with a senior administration official saying there were no signs Moscow planned to use its nuclear weapons.
