.. you might be aware that the character has often been emulated .

^ ^ Above one of my favourite Hulk- emulates . .
    Shawn Michaels..

    lol.
A bit jealousy concerning Bollea might have played a part, gotta admit . .

.. no beef , just humour guys

For someone on top spot in this freakshow , boring . The kid me then found many others way more fascinating , to name a few - Undertaker , Giant Gonsalves , Yokuzuna , Kamala , Papa Shango , Andre The Giant etc.

    ' The Ultimate Warrior '..

One of the WWF' s next- to-Hogan biggest draws. At one time even in talks to kind of become Hogan's successor " to lead the roster of the company "..

I'm sure almost everyone knows him . .

That being said , the story of the man behind this gimmick , Jim Hellwig is at times a sad one though..

He felt kind of second fiddle to Hogan even if there had been plans to establish him as the the new face..

It is reported that he, unsatisfied with his spot, quit the company and only occasionally popped up in wrestling leagues after that from time to time..

Still ,a good one to see if you truly are a fan of this show called 'professional wrestling'.. Yes, it's been confirmed that this sport is based more on stunts and entertainment than anything else . . What many people knew all along . . .

But.. I think Vince McMahon Jr. said it best when he said:

" Is wrestling fake ? ..by that logic, are Arnold Schwarzenegger's movies ' fake '?...

    It's not 'fake'.. it's REAL entertainment !! "

.. as I've said in this thread before.. 'The Undertaker ' ( a gimmick portrayed by Mark Calaway) probably was found to be fascinating by people..

' Giant Gonzalez '.. probably the tallest man to ever step into a wrestling ring.. Fascinating indeed , if you will..

'Yokozuna '.. gimmick of a Japanese sumo- wrestler...

    Very well done..
When in fact Rodney Anoaʻi, who played this character, was an American citizen.. ;- ) .. In fact a member of a famous Polynesian-American wrestling- dynasty..

'Kamala'.. some parallels to Anoaʻi are there.. deemed as an 'African warrior ' from Uganda, in reality a black American from Mississippi...

'Papa Shango'.. one of the many gimmicks of Charles Wright . . .

Made a thread about him here : https://vnnforum.com/showthread.php?t=554497

    André The Giant . . .

    One picture..

My opinion: Hulk Hogan is the greatest professional wrestler of all time. He is the Muhammad Ali of wrestling.

.. what certainly is true is it was his name which truly made so- called pro- wrestling a household name...

Gotta be honest , he also was pushed heavily . .

.. I find it somewhat amazing that allegedly Hogan wanted to turn heel many times during his career but only did so in '96 when he came up with ' Hollywood Hulk Hogan '..

I read on the net that he allegedly wanted to turn heel during his WWF run and wanted the wrestler Sting in WWF.. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/...estlemania-iii...
Then allegedly before he left WWF he passed the idea to McMahon...

There are rumours that when coming to WCW he was interested in being brought in as a heel right on the tick..
He had an almost heel-turn in '95 when an alleged 'Darkside Hulk Hogan ' appeared . .

    In '96 was the time..

    Talking

.. story ' bout Bollea which was on the web a few years back . .

    https://www.thesun.ie/sport/5073716/...-fans-stunned/

^ ^ ..heehee.. Somehow people seem to panic each time one of them established-over- years-characters gives him/ herself a new look... lol, like " But we know you that way , ya gotta look that way forever.." lol or something...

By the way, is it just me or did he look like fuckin' Gandalf in that picture..?

    - - - -

While I mentioned this article from an irish news source , since I already said that the McMahons wanted Bollea to have an irish in-ring last name, they apparently also had plans to have his hair dyed to a reddish tone to appear more irish...

But when it was all said and done, the Hogan we all know from years looked like that..

    :D

.. the guy from which Hogan won his first WWF title..

No use denying there sometimes might be some real- life heat between wrestlers , even though when putting on the show they're still part of the same team, they're just putting on an act..

I do not know why the sheik held this grudge against Hogan, since he was so nice to put him over to win his first title . .

    . . .

Concerning the passing of Sheik, Rest In Peace..

.. couldn't resist with this picture since he was from Iran . .
