Many could have been ethnic Germans or Jews from the Russian Empire. I'm not aware of many Russians or Slavs for that matter in Australia before WWII.

I suspect many were probably Jews.
I wonder if many of the Polish pre WW2 population were also Jews.

going anywhere near the CBD of Sydney is literally like landing in an Asian city. you see 80 to 90% Asians. Cant help but feel at some point our Government sold us out.
