What standards of living? People just live longer on average than a few decades ago because they are kept sick but alive, addicted to drugs.

It's obvious that the overall standards of living in western societies have been deteriorating since at least 20 years.

Anyway what is happening in France is far from being about only the retirement age, those popular revolts were bound to happen sooner or later.

This isn't true and it makes no sense, our life hope aint 65 or whatever you think that it is.

People live longer because they have access to much better healthcare, you don't die after a simple infection or trauma anymore. We also have better medication for different illnesses.
On top of this, they are more educated and therefore, make lifestyle choices, such as less smoking.

Not so, as you can see on the graph the average life expectancy in the USA is not much different than in 1980 (slightly over 74 vs slightly over 76 in 2020) and it is
actually decreasing over the past few years.

About the healthy lifestyle that is laughable when the percentage of obese and diabetic or pre-diabetic people increased astronomically over the past 3-4 decades, all the ultra processed food is poison, fast/junk food became regular eating, drug addiction is a huge problem and lots of people have sedentary jobs/lifestyle.

People live longer on average because they are kept sick but alive, in developed countries people don't die of infection or trauma in significant numbers since the mid XX century and infant mortality plays a huge role on these life expectancy averages, also the (lack of) big wars where lots of young soldiers and civilians die.
