Japan is often lumped in the Western world, i think for example world atlas does label it as Western. Id say you could make a decent argument for it. Either way it represents 20 indictements in Netherlands and the lowest rate in the bottom chart.

OK, but why Indonesia too? If they said "Japan and South Korea" as Western then that would make sense. Also intriguing is how Chinese, Filipinos, Indonesians and even Indians and Mexicans apparently have lower crime rates than the native Dutch. (Conversely, Koreans actually have slightly higher crime rates than the native Dutch).

Indonesia, that's more surprising i wouldn't label it as Western. I think those other groups are so low in numbers it's not that relevant. I mean how many Mexicans live in Netherlands really...those odd groups for the place are rather from very peculiar classes who ended up in a country for random reasons than regular more massive immigration. The only Mexican ive ever known in France for example was from a wealthy family who ended up there because they had a business deal with a local company. This kind probably only shows up in the stats because they drove above the speed limit a few times and such...
