If you want to make science fiction literally, there is a fair assumption, the pyramids are even older than the ancient Egyptians we refer to, based on erosion, different construction techniques and other things. It doesn't take too much leaps of logic to think those who actually built them in the first place were even less African/MENA than the ancients, who themselves were less than present day Egyptians (who are less than this actress...). So they even suck at the most basic principle of science fiction, which is the art of congruency.
