Bare Necessities, because it got the Van Dyke Parks touch (~: He worked on so many important songs and received little credit, like this Beach Boys song

I wanna be like you reminds me of Baboon. Romanian claiming to be Western European because he speaks a Romance language just like French people do. He's telling the French he is just like them.

It is genuinely my favourite song of the film, however.

Not that I wish to go off-topic, but the article I posted in this thread shows how Western Europe diverged economically from Eastern Europe as far back as the 1300's, which makes all those Eastern Euros who claim Western European achievements as belonging to all of Europe all the more ironic: https://www.theapricity.com/forum/sh...se-of-the-West

I Wanna Be Like You , or better said, Eu Quero Ser Como Vocę, the version I grew up with.

Correct me if I am wrong, but they are almost certainly native English-speakers singing in Portuguese.

No, I am quite sure they are all native Brazilian Portuguese speakers dubbing the entire movie, songs included. No foreign accent whatsoever. There's also the European Portuguese version but I grew up with the Brazilian dubbing because in the early 90's this was the only one available.

Both equally well crafted by a generation forced to read Shakespeare in the pre1960 schools, but the second is more entertaining even if there were no animation, and, needless to say, would never be written today because woke ideology would prevent it from being released, citing its racist theme of a baboon wanting to be human, besides which, half of Disney's staff is indeed woke.
