I'd say Bosnia, Albania, Kosovo and Serbia are the countries I think most of as "Balkan" (which is probably because they are the biggest immigrant groups in Sweden from Balkan, and I have seen so much online arguments between them on Swedish forums in my time). Least, Romania and Moldova perhaps.

Yes, both Seka and Anabela are by origin half Bosniak Muslims.

The Balkans is a slavic place in the modern, hence the most slavic places of the balkan peninsula are those countries one could call true Balkans. If you mean indigenous Balkanics in terms of genetics: Albanians can possibly claim that, but even for them it's a stretch.

Idk what to think. But my Kajkavian Croat friends from northern Croatia are not exactly like Slovenes (or how we stereotype Slovenes). They are very extraverted, like village feasts, foods, drinks and party.
    Many are very devoted Catholics.
Don't forget that Czechs are not a single entity. Just a fun fact, Southern Moravians don't really wanna be associated with other Czechs. They think we are rednecks who drink wine all day and wear clothes from 150 years ago. To such types, it's enough to say 'just check our GDP per capita and compare it with yours'. We think of Bohemia as though it was Moldavia (especially the northern Bohemian part), so to speak. When you ask a Southern Moravian about Bohemia, you would get answers like 'drugs, gypsies, poverty, homelessness'. Too bad we are actually right.

As a lazy and effective individual I somewhat dislike expressing redundant so I didn't repeat what I chosed in the poll. But I chosed Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania, BiH and North Macedonia. I then actually hesitated regarding Bulgaria (!), knowing that the Balkans proper are a mountain ridge in Bulgaria but I then overcame myself and selected Bulgaria as well. But that's it.

As for Croatia, this hard core Balkanite country (kidding), I can even motivate its somewhat distance to the Balkans. To my perception the (typical) Balkans is both incompatible with Pannonia (simplified Slavonia) as well as with the Mediterranean (simplified Dalmatia). So you neatly escaped that label.

On the other hand the proximity of Croatia to the Balkans is notable, likely because of the permanent historical population exchanges, except maybe for the Kaikavian areas.

You refer to the looted German lands where the Czechs do sense that they will one day have to return them and thus - very understandable - did not make any notable efforts and investments in favor of the development. So if you want to assess Bohemian Czechs, try to ignore those German very neglected areas as a pretty particular and not representative for Czechs condition.

You have - for whatever reason exactly - very many "turkbulgarer" in Sweden. You don't have a "Balkans" take on them?

Btw. I'm also not very much associating Bulgarians with the Balkans (though they even do harbour the Balkans per definition).

Just hoping you're trolling, as in the case of you being serious, you literally belong into a psych ward.

As a totally noob person when it goes to balkans I would like to contribute with my expert lay impression that may be similar to any average dude who lives in the southern hemisphere.

Most balkan country = Serbia. It is the main country of the region in my opinion.

Croatia give me kind a western vibe, same goes for Greece. Hungary gives me a central european vibe. I dont even think Romania is part of the Balkans, they kind have their own place. All other options are hardly known out of Europe imho. Also I see Turkey as an Western Asian country that I like too much because their hair transplant.
