My off-topic comment is not helping to answer the question of the thread. I should’ve abstained from making it, my bad. I hope we can move forward.

Indeed post Stalin Soviet architecture generally looks awful

But Stalin Soviet architecture looks good enough:

Compare the beige building to the red one which is to the left:

The red building is of Khrusshev time.
    Do what you should.

Yes, I love the architecture of his period. There are some city planning flaws like making too wide streets with literally highways through the cities, some kind of megalomania, but the buildings and the green streets and boulevards overweight the flaws. My native district Izmailovo is based on it.

I live in a building of this period too. This architecture inspires and confidence. I love it too. Krasnodar has Stalin time buildings but not too many.
My street is indeed broad and it helps now that there are so many cars. The post Tsarism street planning of Krasodar is way too chaotic, making sure the jams are severe now, but I'm not sure which streets were planned during the rule of Stalin.
    Do what you should.

If interested and have time to take a look, here's some info:

    Romanian architectural styles

    And during Communism (Bucharest)

Architectural styles that can be discovered in Bucharest

These styles look familiar or rather different?

Stallinist era architecture school was based on Russian Imperial architecture school and architects, but as I've said, with a tendency of megalomania. Russian Imperial architecture didn't have such dimensions, it was more classic one.

Post Stalinist architecture school is a total nihilism based on some lunatic European tendencies never massively introduced in Europe + "new school" architects from proletarian circles. It's a disaster.
