Russians are mostly irreligious as nation just like English.

Orthodox Churches are highly involved into politics and tied with rulling elites, and their influence is declining just like on the west.

Russia isn't any kind of protector of conservative values. It's a nonsense for clueless western plebs unsatisfied with decaying state of their own societies.

Exactly, they are not even nearly traditional. The era immediately succeeding the USSR, are the 90s, an era which, along with unfathomable poverty, had unrestricted press freedom which revolved around degnerated themes. If they were truly traditional, there wouldn't be any of that.

And people often tend to forget that. Mid-to late 1980s and 1990s Russia was anything as bad as the Weimar Republic. Let's not forget that.
