I think it's also the women, here in the US. It depends on what you mean by "adores money". When it comes to valuing the signaling power of money via conspicuous consumption, it is almost universally women. One could argue the case, though, that men have to engage in conspicuous consumption to attract those women in the first place, but it is only because of the female adoration of visible wealth that they have to do so.

When it comes to working hard to earn wealth, it's the men. However, there is a rising culture of "boss babes" who become workaholics, not to grow true wealth, but to sustain the image of wealth via their appearances. I work enough to sustain my lifestyle and put a little aside, always living below my means and seeking contentment. If it matters for your questioning purposes, my partner has a decent job and I never really ask him for anything, but he likes to pay for dates and helps me pay for my groceries lately, since I'm dealing with some money issues currently. I would never expect gifts or financial displays from him, and often reassure him that he doesn't need to spend anything on me to keep me. His field is struggling to sustain employees at the moment, and the future is uncertain, but I'd rather live in a little cabin with him instead of a mansion with someone I don't like as much.

All three factors are important, family is rather not novices based, but rather elder based, in chinese value, elders are the center of the family: 百善孝为先/all good come from venerating the elders. It is a family mandate in China to marry especially for most well-to do families, liberal families are mostly poorer ones, which would allow gay, trans, celibacy. This case is probably a reflection of the revolting feminism and the lack of man`s development in China. I know some cases about such unattractive men which excel in STEM, traditional chinese family education produces a lot of this kind of "men". But if a family is rich enough, they can have the VIP seat to choose a girl from a large base of applicants, however ugly and stupid their sons might be. But recently these families are starting to choose from oversea as well.

I would say men value money more but not for relationships, and women in general are completely out of touch with money (and reality)

All of those are chasing the 0,0001% of the population while looking average and bringing little to the table. When you become something like a millionaire men begin to have some simple standards. Only offering sex is also out of the equation as you can get that as much as you want, even more easily with money. You are genuinely more impressed by very small things a woman can do for you, making your life easier, bringing some peaceful vibe home, etc... than some crazy sex trick.

There's a difference on how both sexes see it.
USUALLY, it's obvious that it's a generalization, Men are much more inclined to earn through their own work and workers, meanwhile a Woman's dream is being provided.

That is, Men adore earning, women adore money.
