That is one of the coolest cups ever. It would be nice to have a set of diverse historical reproduction drinking vessels for cocktail parties

I wonder who are the great alcoholics of ancient history.

Wait, I assume we are taking for granted that they were a conglomeration of nations, not just one, right?

There have always been imposters who seek to leach off the legacy of their more successful counterparts.

    "There is safety in discrimination"
"James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the 12 tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting." James 1:1

Early in his career, before he was ever important, the greatest consigliere from the Han dynasty period had taken to drinking wine before journeys on horse to steady his nerves.

By the time he could afford a saddle, but years before his polite society debut, the grape fired his blood morning to evening, as it would for the last 52 years of his life. He is the only man to have soiled himself before the emperor twice.

But his power-whispers in the imperial dark are the stuff of legend.

I appreciate the recommendation, however with regard to the literature pertaining to the Early European Farmhands I cannot recommend any other than the master of the subject and I refer to none other than the honourable Dr Ibn Gibbons Hardtkoc Fuoktush.

Fuktush and the English writer Philupa Butts have written an absolutely epic and illuminating masterpiece entitled "The First Mr Hands " .

This book delights the reader in exploring the amazing connection between the EEFH and their Farm animals.

Fuoktush and Butts open the way for the reader to enter fully and plunge deeply into the ancient world of the EEFH in a way that goes way beyond any other writers on the subject.
If you are anything of a semi serious student on the subject then you absolutely must get your hands on "The First Mr Hands", by Fuktoush and Butts.
It is a most compelling read with a happy ending that will indulge and delight any true EEFH connoisseur.

Does it have to be the ninth edition? I've found a reasonably priced softcover fifth edition on an online bookstore.

Fuktusht purists generally regard editions one to seven to be the late Professors original legitimate untainted and orthodox writings that are reflective of his most diligent and thorough assessment of the topic.

These 7 editions all published before he expired mysteriously and his body was later found in a red barn on the north coast of Denmark in an isolated abandoned farm near the old village of Skottrup.

After the Professors passing his former assistant writer Philupa Butts went on to independently publish editions 8 and 9 in which she took liberties re editing the original manuscript and added several chapters she has credited to her own research.
Whiltst Fuktusht felt Butts to be a reasonable scholar he had also commented on her at times whimsical methods and fanciful conclusions.
Other critics simply contend that Butts was full of hot air and lacked the hard penetrative approach that Fuktusht preferred.

    Stumbling upon an available
"The First Mr Hands" 5th edition these days is rare as hens teeth and lightening seldom strikes twice.
