Iraqi Kurdish asylum seeker gets 9 years for raping Ukrainian refugee in UK

Ekurd Daily News Kurdistan: An Iraqi Kurdish asylum seeker, Jwamer Saygul, who has been labeled a "predator," was sentenced to 9 years in prison for raping a Ukrainian refugee in Neston in 2022. Saygul had met the victim, who had fled to this country from the ongoing war in Ukraine, on a bus from Chester City and arranged to meet her in Neston, where he attempted to initiate sexual contact. When she refused, he forcibly grabbed her by the neck, threw her to the ground, and proceeded to rape her. She eventually escaped and contacted a friend, who then called the police. According to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), Jwamer Saygul, a 24-year-old resident of Ringway in Neston, committed the rape in a Neston park on October 3rd, 2022. Despite claiming the sexual act was consensual, Jwamer Saygul Jaffar was found guilty after a trial and has been placed on the Sexual Offenders Register for life.

Sarah Egan, a Senior Crown Prosecutor from CPS Mersey Cheshire's Rape and Serious Sexual Offences unit (RASSO), stated that “the victim had sought refuge in the UK from the war in her home country, only to experience unwanted sexual advances from Saygul. Saygul’s violent attack and rape of the victim is unacceptable, especially for someone in a potentially vulnerable position. This is not the first time Saygul has been convicted of a sexual offence, and he has shown no remorse."

"Saygul is a predatory individual who believes that he can act with impunity and no regard for others, particularly women, as evidenced by his lack of remorse. The trial was efficiently concluded in only two and a half days," she added.

In March 2021, a 24-year-old Iraqi Kurdish asylum seeker named Azam Mangori was responsible for the murder and dismemberment of a 32-year-old British woman whom he met on a night out. He left her body parts in both an alley and woodland. The court sentenced him to life in prison and mandated that he serve at least 20 years behind bars.

On July 6, 2021, a Kurdish teenager descent was convicted of murdering two British sisters. He believed he had entered into a pact with demonic entities to kill at least six women every six months in exchange for a future lottery win.
