Default Are Croatians light washed on TA?

People act like they are so much lighter than Serbians. They talk like Croatians are blonde Vikings living among darker South Slavs. I've been to Croatia and there were plenty of swarthy people. I don't mean they are the darkest in the Balkans but they are not a light as people on here make them out. I think some either have never been to Croatia or have an agenda. Maybe Ustaše movement, who claimed Croatians were Germans , started this myth.

I know that this thread is probably meant to anger a certain poster, but A Bosnian told me that the average Croat in Dalmatia looks like Zlatko Dalic and Miso Kovać.

He presented me with this video to showcase Croats:

I would say croats have average european pigmentation. They are not light, but not dark either.

Only the people from Dalmatia have many dark individuals, but the Croats from Croatia proper (which was part of Hungary at 1000 years) have average European pigmentation and not so much different from Hungarians.

Croatia was not fully part of Hungary but it was a personal union .So they had their own culture and identity.

Yes, a bit lightwashed, but it is normal since they are indeed the lightest Balkanites with the exception of Slovenes.

What I do have noticed in countries like Croatia and Bosnia you can find both sides: very light specimens and very dark ones.

I tend to agree with you about Croatia and Bosnia here.
For example in my family, me, my 2 brothers and my parents have dark blond/light brown hair and blue eyes while my paternal grandmother looks like a typical South Italian.
