In good old tradition, yesterday I've just returned from a 9 day long trip in a self-organized tour of Portugal and Spain, so I will share my anthropological observations.
Portuguese: the most brunet population in Europe (I haven't been in Malta, Sardinia or Balearic Islands though), same level as Anatolian Turks. 95% of individuals look pure ENF (black/dark brown hair in great majority), the rest evenly split between Aryan and indigenous CM. Med is very strongly dominant, keeping two varieties:
- an Iberian variety common to Spaniards, present as one of founding elements of ethnic French (their Med component)
- a local short variety with convex noses and short height (100% near-black haired haired, dark olive skin)
Skin tone is mostly dark olive, followed by light olive. In Porto people are slightly lighter and the ratio of Aryan/CM increases a bit
Spaniards: people in Galicia are visibly lighter than the Portuguese. French types are present in 10-20% of population, the rest being pure ENF: Meds and lots of Alpines. Same pattern I've noticed in Burgos (20% looked French). Local Med is only of Iberian variety: majority light olive skinned, black/dark brown hair remain in majority. Women are really really beautiful (both teens and adults): most likely the most beautiful in the world followed by the Kazakh (TikTok proved itself right with its samples). The face of Lady of Elche is everywhere: you can't get any better than that!
Overall Spaniards seem to me darker than Italians: if you compare native faces of Rome and Madrid, you will notice that easily.
