Sometimes the beauty of tone takes a back seat to the character in the voice.
In fact, "pretty, pretty" voices without much character express little and get monotonous very quickly.

I cited this youtuber earlier in this thread. I like his stuff even if he gets longwinded.
This video just dropped with an analysis of Turner's voice. Naturally, since he leaves out the part about "jackhammers", his understanding might be suspect.

The smoky and the rare, unique quality of having vibrato in the voice is what I absolutely loved about her voice as well as this Amerind flute player’s, singer’s sound:
