Default Is it normal for Europeans to not have an oven?

Someone is trying to convince me (American) that it's normal for homes in the Netherlands to not have ovens. This can't be real, I'm losing my mind to think that a human being could live without an oven: one of the oldest and most essential human inventions. Even cave people cooked in rudimentary ovens.

    Is this real?

I have like this combo thing, but it is not a real oven.

No, I've never met anyone who didn't have an oven save for students in dorms and accommodations. Gas or electric, doesn't matter. Most people have a microwave oven as well.

I have both oven and microwave but I rarely use them, I use electrogrill much more often.

No, I don't think so. I've yet to hear of someone who doesn't have ugn (oven in Swedish).

What is uncommon is to have a gas stove, at least where I live. I have gotten the impression that it is something 'American'.

Russian, too. We don't use electricity for stove in most of cases, as gas is cheap as shit.

I heard that Americans don't have saunas at home how weird are those people. I'm losing my mind to think that a human being could live without one.

I'm thinking that her friend might have heard or tried to say that gas stoves are uncommon in (Western) Europe, and it got misunderstood as ovens being uncommon. But I don't know.
