Why won't my talent ever be recognized?

Look buddy, take this from me.
I used to perform music and do live shows and it paid okay by the time I was 19 I had a brand new BMW M3 from doing shows and my songs at one point were doing over 30k unique listeners on Spotify a month for a solid year.
I stopped producing music for the past few years and dedicated myself to just a SoundCloud for just my friends, the money stopped showing, I stopped performing shows, I lost a very close friend 2 years ago who was someone I idolized even as my equal and his music would put over a million plays but he suffered depression and ended up committing suicide.

Point being, talent is talent, marketing is marketing. If you make music or a creative mind you are a free person, use that to your advantage. Monetary gain, fame gains and anything else will come when your passion is your focus not the possible end goal.
I know I troll here a lot, or at least used too, I am 24 now turning soon at 25, I was using this forum when I was 15 and 16 and took it as a joke, but take this on a serious note, think of your age, how far you came and be happy you are kicking. It is better to be pissed off then pissed on.

If you have been offering the fruits of your talent for a long time and the world does not seem to appreciate them as much as you think they should be appreciated, recognized and valued, perhaps you have a wrong perception of the true value of the fruits of your talent... or maybe you just don't have as much talent as you think you do.

In any case, true talent is not begging for recognition, talent has the need to express itself without expecting anything in return.

What you have without any doubt is a need for approval from others. The talent in your case, without denying or affirming that you possess it, is something difficult to pin down. You can be very talented and never succeed, and you can be successful without any talent.

He listened to Sweet Tea and Get Me to Church. What was insightful - and made me chuckle - was he caught a similarity between Sweet Tea and The Beatle's song Let It Be. I chuckled because I know RB hates The Beatles.

This song made me think " Silver Wings" when I first heard it.


It isn't just the first melody that he truncates. The bridge melody is too close for comfort and in the lyrics, even some of the rhyme patterns are alike.

A person's music does have to speak for itself. Self-promotion can get people to listen initially, but if the music doesn't click, it won't result in long term listeners.
