Most likely, there is a secondary convergence of these languages: Finnish, Karelian and Vepsian. I read that some neighboring Vepsian villages do not understand each other if they speak their own dialects. Moreover, they will not understand Suomi. The Vepsians do not have a literary language, so they began to artificially create it on the basis of the Suomi language. I think that the Baltic-Finnish language appeared in the Southern Ladoga region after separation from the Permian language. One part went to Estonia, the other settled in Karelia. Then there was a secondary rapprochement in the region of the Karelian Isthmus and the enrichment of the vocabulary of the Karelian and Veps peoples with words from the Suomi language. Therefore, I think that everything is much more complicated.

Jumi sounds like an ancient Finno-Ugric god.

No, the word "chud" does not come from the word "funny", it is an ancient Indo-European exonym, which we also borrowed, possibly from the Germanic language. The etymology is unclear. The offensive word "chukhonets", apparently reinterpreted from chud. He already has an obvious contemptuous coloring, such as a sloppy, battered, unwashed ass. I understand it.

Just googled the term chukhonet, and thats for male, neutral is Chukhna, and to me it sounds like Čuknut, which means a bit dumb in a head in Croatian

Only IE connection i can think of is Ljud(i), which means people or humans

In any case, we are the closest relatives) according to ftdna, I have many cousins from Suomi. I'm not writing this to get Finns to support the Russians, I just sincerely think so.

I am 100% sure that the Russians perceive this as an insult to the Finno-Ugrians. We have stopped insulting Veps and Karelians, perhaps our ancestors used to troll Karelians and Veps. Today we use this term to refer to Suomi and Estonians - a shitty ass.)))

Today I perceive Veps, Karelians, Vods, Izhorians, Ingermanlanders, Mordvins as a sub-ethnos of the Russian people. Not all Russians think so, only those who know that they are part of our DNA.
